MichaelaTV.com Reviews: The Players, Total Tolerance Theatre Company and Grace & Competra present a staged reading of COVER – A play in two acts – Monday November 28, 2011 at The Players Club, Gramercy Park, New York City.

Cover: a staged play written by William McMahon and Directed by David Drake is a performance that mimics real life very authentically and humorously while raising many important life lessons.  With actors such as Max Rhyser, Steven Hauck, Karin de la Penha and Aryn Cole at the helm, a Broadway hit is sure to be brewing.  When two seemingly heterosexual men cross paths during a  “normal” day in the life, their paths immediately veer in an unanticipated direction. Friendship, passion, controversy, humor and deception all converge into a scenario that keeps us all on the edge of our seats. The women of this cast add layers and emotion: infusing strength, femininity, fragility, power and artistic prowess to their roles. The audience is kept waiting, wanting and fearful of the different scenes that transpire throughout this well written and well performed little vignette of life’s complexities. The scenario painted in this performance will hit home for some, will raise questions for others and will leave us all with lessons learned about life and about ourselves.  We must all keep our eyes and ears open not only for the cast of COVER but for this piece of art that is sure to make waves on the great white way.    —- Michaela
